This pattern is written in UK terms. I will upload a UK to US conversion table.

Hook Size: I use a 4mm, you can use bigger or smaller hook size depending on how big you would like it to be and what type of yarn you use.

Yarn: DK, I used double knitting yarn in different colours to create this.

You will need a pair of scissors, your hook and your yarn.

Round one: Chain 6, insert hook into the first stitch that you done and do a slip stitch this will create a circle.

Round two: Working into the centre of the circle. Chain 3 – this chain will count as your first double crochet.

In the ring your going to work 15 more double crochet.

To do this you need to do yarn over, into the the circle, yarn over pull through 2 yarn over pull through 2. Continue to do this until you get to where you started. You now need to do a slip stitch into chain 3. Put your hook into the 3rd chain and yarn over and pull through this will then connect the circle together.

Round three: Chain 3 – this counts as your first double crochet. Work a double crochet in the next stitch.

Yarn over the hook, into the stitch yarn over pull through 2, yarn over pull through 2.

Chain 2, in the next stitch work a double crochet like previously. Then a double crochet in the next stitch.

You then chain 2.

The pattern for this is 2 double crochet, chain 2, 2 double crochet then chain 2. Continue to do this until you get to where you started.

You then need to join them together. Put your hook into the 3rd chain like before and yarn over and pull through this will join your work together.

Round four: You need to slip stitch into 2 stitches. Once you have done this you need to chain 3 – remember this counts as your first double crochet. Chain 2 – work 2 double crochet in the next stitch.

This will create a V stitch.

Chain 2, then work 2 double crochet in the next stitch. Then chain 2, then work 2 double crochet in the next stitch. Continue to do this until you get to the end where you will join them together like you done previously. You will put your hook into the 3rd stitch and do a slip stitch.

Round five: Chain 3, we are then going to work another 5 double crochet in the same stitch. Once you have done the 5 double crochet it will create a shell.

In the next stitch you are going to do a slip stitch.

Then in the next stitch you will work 6 double crochet to create another shell.

In the next stitch you are going to do a slip stitch.

Then in the next stitch you will work 6 double crochet to create another shell.

Continue to do these steps until you get to the end. You will then do a slip stitch at the end.
